Akt3 melanoma trigger (source of veggie treatment reports)
Akt3 is a protein active in most melanoma cells
and appears related to the spread of the disease.
ISC-4 and ISC-6 (isoselenocyanate) chemicals
derived from green veggies and modified with
selenium appear to block Akt3 activity with little
adverse effect.
This doesn't mean taking selenim and eating cabbage
are a treatment for melanoma however MM patients
often have low selenium
(and Vitamin D-3 - my information from other sources)
serum levels. So, what could it hurt until the
drugs are tested and approved?

Selenium + Cruciferous Veg fight melanoma
Selenium + Cruciferous Veg fight melanoma
Recent research
http://live.psu.edu/story/37998
shows that melanoma can be fought with a combination of selenium and green vegetables including cabbage, broccoli, and others block the Akt3 protein and "signaling" network which is the root of melanoma cancer.

See my earlier blog posts for information about
Vitamin D and MM mortality.
Remember, most sunscreens promote the
destruction of Vitamin D - see
earlier postings for related scientific studies.
